The B22 LED downlight is very much
the same as the downlight seen above
except that instead of using 3x1w diodes
it uses a single 3w diode. It isn't
as bright as the 3x1w unit but it is
less expensive. We would imagine it
is about 80% of the luminous output
of the 3x1w unit.

B22 Single 3w Cree XRE XLamp
The bulbs will reach 50,000 hours service life due
to the quality of their manufacture.
Thermal overload protected and constant current regulated.
If the bulb gets too hot it shuts off and returns to normal
operation when it's cooled down.
Two things will kill an LED fast:
Excessive heat and unregulated current.
The power must be consistent without highs and lows.
Using constant current drivers we regulate the amount of
power coming into the bulb despite variations in source
current supply.
The thermal cut-outs provide additional protection in cases
where the bulb is operated in excessively warm conditions.
They're expensive but good value for money over the service
lifetime.
