These bulbs are equipped with thermal cut-outs.
If the bulb gets too hot it shuts off and returns to normal operation when it's cooled down.
Two things will kill an LED fast, excessive heat and unregulated current.
The power must be consistent without highs and lows.
Using constant current drivers we regulate the amount of power coming into the bulb despite variations in source current supply.
The thermal cut-outs provide additional protection in cases where the bulb is operated in excessively warm conditions.
